What was the highlight of MDS Hotel Calama
Heaven on earth in the Atacama dessert.
We stayed there the night before we flew out of Calama after two weeks of camping in the national parks. It felt like heaven on earth: the receptionist spoke fluent English, there was even a bath tub in the room (unreal in the middle of the dessert) , free (?) drinks as coffee, wine and lemonades in the foyer of every floor... At check in we got two vouchers for drinks at the bar. From 20.00-22.00 there is an excellent buffet dinner for 16.000 Pesos including a drink. Airport drop off can be organised and is free of charge. Perfect!!
We had a room facing the street and therefore also the railway. This is extremely loud during the night, the room is even shaking when a train passes. Make sure you get a room on the other side, facing the shopping centres.

Room, bed, service, swimming pool and welcome cocktail. Everything was just Perfect !! For our one night in Calama before our flight and after 9 days in San Pedro it was a toral luxury for a super raisonnable price! Totally recommend.
